Deshbandhu       

The Deshbandhu, one of the oldest newspapers in Central India, was launched from Raipur by Shri Mayaram Surjan on 17th April 1959. He remained its mentor, steersman and Chief Editor till his death on 31st December 1994. Today, Deshbandhu is simultaneously published from five major towns of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh

The Deshbandhu staffers hold the distinction of begging highest number of Statesman Award for Excellence in Rural Reporting - 14 awards in 20 years. An achievement unsurpassed by any other paper in the country. As a matter of fact, it's widely known as the only Hindi newspaper dedicated to social-concern journalism.
