The Deshbandhu, one of the oldest newspapers in Central India, was launched from Raipur by Shri Mayaram Surjan on 17th April 1959. He remained its mentor, steersman and Chief Editor till his death on 31st December 1994. Today, Deshbandhu is simultaneously published from five major towns of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.
Besides, the publication house brings out an afternoon newspaper Highway Channel simultaneously from three places in Chhattisgarh.
A litrary monthly AKSHAR PARV is also published by the publication house.
The Deshbandhu staffers hold the distinction of begging highest number of Statesman Award for Excellence in Rural Reporting - 14 awards in 20 years.
